A general home inspection is a noninvasive, visual examination of the accessible areas of a residential property performed for a fee. The inspection is designed to identify defects within specific systems and components — defined by the Standards of Practice — that are both observed and deemed material by the inspector.
We normally take 3 to 4 hours to complete a home inspection, we touch on 10 or 11 aspects of the home, including the exterior, interior, roof, chimney, appliances, HVAC, basement, crawlspace, electrical, plumbing, attic, visible insulation, doors and windows. We cannot see through walls so we’re unable to tell you if insulation was added; however, we do utilize a temperature gun to help us determine if walls may be insulated.
